One that dares to tackle one of the world’s most pressing ecological and human health crises, that of plastic pollution. Your belief in us fuels our belief that innovation born in Ohio can truly change the world. This grant will power SmartSolve’s new research and development center, which will serve as the heartbeat of innovation and collaboration for years to come. It enables us to deliver on three major commitments that align directly with JobsOhio’s mission and the future of our state. First, innovation for impact. It will allow us to commercialize at least one new zero waste packaging technology every single year, empowering our customers to not only navigate and tackle some of the most difficult sustainability questions, but also to confront the challenge of plastic pollution head on, literally dissolving the problem away. Number two, it will support regional workforce growth and an educational pipeline. While we partner with universities, we partner with trade schools, high schools, and workforce programs throughout Northwest Ohio. We have evidence of that today with middle schoolers from Otsego. They’re one of many that have come through these doors, and we’re excited to partner with more throughout the years to come. Third, awareness and action. We wanna raise public awareness on sustainability by addressing practical challenges and bridging the gap between ideation and action. So that everyone from students to CEOs can join together in tackling this difficult challenge. Through this center, we’re not just building a facility, we’re building momentum for a movement. But what a task lies before us. Each year, there are an estimated five trillion plastic packages poured into the environment that surrounds us. According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish by the year twenty fifty if all of our current sustainability metrics remain stable. Not only are we seeing effects on the ecosystem, we are now seeing emerging research demonstrate the problems to human digestive health, endocrine systems, reproductive systems. There has been numerous years also demonstrating now a new link potentially to cancer. The least amount of plastic that you’ll ever be exposed to is the plastic that you’re exposed to today if something doesn’t change. This problem is growing exponentially, and it demands innovation powerful enough to meet this challenge head on. But here’s the good news. Ohio has always been a state to tackle the impossible. From flight to manufacturing to material science, impossible is what we do best. If you’ve seen the mural on our west facing wall, you’ve seen the words that inspire us here at SmartSolve every single day, which is the motto of the state of Ohio. With God, all things are possible. We believe that no enemy is too big, no obstacle too tall, and no plastic too ubiquitous that it cannot be overcome through human ingenuity and God giving creativity. This belief, this conviction led to a tremendous breakthrough, a world first right here in Bowling Green, Ohio. The innovation called PureNil 0. Is the world’s first all-natural, dissolvable, drain safe, bio-based packaging substrate. At SmartSolve, we have six core values, character, drive, innovation, joy, humility, and growth. Every employee that joins our team has to have those memorized. You can do me a favor and test them to make sure that that isn’t the case. I’m confident they’ll pass. No challenge is too big when people of purpose come together. To JobsOhio, to our partners, to our entire team, thank you for believing in this vision. Together, we’re not just solving problems. We’re building the future smarter, sustainable, and right here in Northwest Ohio. Indeed, with God, all things are possible. Thank you.
